folkwit records
Folkwit Records was established in 2003 by the members of folk-roots ensemble Palava initially as a means of self-releasing new recordings. However, it soon developed into the small independent label that it is today with a diverse roster representing music ranging from alternative folk roots and alt country through to lo-fi and experimental music.
Some of our releases our conventional in the sense that the CDs are commercially manufactured and distributed through Proper Distribution. Others are limited edition individually home-packaged CDs/CDRs (e.g Pulco).

textual analysis of Ben Howard only love
Textual analysis of ben Howard only love
First we see an opening close up low to high angle and the music has already come in this is to show the artists and also the high use of lighting straight away then it goes to a series of close up tracking shots of the artist and the bike he is riding to show what he’s doing and waiting for the vocals to come in then it later goes to a performing mid shot were he is sing on stage again with good lighting this is setting up he’s next location that he uses in this video also with extreme long shot of the crowds reaction this is used to show the hole new setting he has in this song .
Next we move on to extreme long shots of the original place in the song this is again showing the location and also helps covey the mood of love and happiness hence the main course line only love which gets repeated over and over this is all stereotypes of the genre fowk as usually they use a lot of extreme long shots and find weather that conveys the mood in the song but also they always have very good lighting in fowk unless they blur in and out between shots
. We later move on to see an over the shoulder tracking shot of him whilst he is riding this is used to show what he is looking at and also to show the movement and peace of the shots. This about mise on sen I have seen in this song is that its all in wide location’s and the location reflects the mood of the song there not a lot in the scenes just the general street to street what I mean it looks like they have changed nothing to make the location stand out or be unique instead they have gone for a very natural look with good narrative shots . Lighting is very key in this video as it dose what most fowk song do and put yellow tints of the camera to give it more of happy and hopefully feel to the song but one thing I have realised is there is many shots wear they have the light bursting through to the shot sort of blinding the camera to give again this real nice happy feal effect that real suits the genre .
Costume the costume is not loud or flamboyant its basic and very relatable for the audience and that’s why I think this has been used .
Use of shots I counted 7 over the shoulder shots
67 close ups to mid shots
88 Extreme long shots or narrative shots
56 tracking shots
This helps give me an indication of the amount of shots I might have to do and the types of shots I should do . Peace of this song was surprisingly fast compared to most fowk music but then as fowk goes on people like ben Howard are trying to put more of peace but slit at quite a riealasit rate this is something I will have to keep looking at for my project to see what sort of peace I can do it in my genre and depending on the song chocie
